What can i say? It was amazing to gather with 8000 people for a time of corporate worship, personal reflection, teaching and awareness of what God is doing around the world.
Louie Giglio spoke. Chris Tomlin and David Crowder Band lead worship. It was so so so so good. (am nearly sounding like a teenage girl)
Chris Tomlin started off leading worship, and one thing that really amazes me and i respect of how he leads is that even though there were 8000 people there he made it feel so personal. The thing i love about Passion is that they are all about Jesus, and they keep on pointing towards God, constantly reminding people that it is not about the personalities there but the night is about God. I really respect that of Louie, Chris and David.
Louie then gave a brief introduction to the vision of passion and what they are trying to achieve and their driving verse Isaiah 26:8 and then Spoke on (2 Corinthians 5:21) “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” and challenged people to examine the reality of this statement, how awesome, how life changing it is, but that many Christians who have spent time in churches have lost this amazement of what God has done for us.
I liked it alot. But then i like the way he speaks so am a bias person to review the night.
After Louie spoke David Crowder lead some more worshi, the thing i love about his song is that some parts of the song he sings to the people (In my opinion no different to preachers saying things to congregation, just more poetic and in tune). The other thing i love about David Crowders way of leading is that there are anthemic choruses that are straight to the point and play through your head non stop.
I know some people hate this way of doing some songs in church, i reckon it should be part of the mix and fits in with OT practices and music so, yeah to each his own. I thought it was a good balance between Tomlin and Crowder.
All in all it was the best way for Kristy and i to finish our holidays.
